Bounty Island (Day 2)

Another day on Bounty Island...

They have a pool table on the island, and after a few games I was titled the Champion, as many of the employees challenged me, but to no success!

Spent most of the day hanging around in the sun. Went for a walk around the island, and the high tide came in forcing me to swim for a while.

Later that night one of the employees (a local Fijian) invited us to drink Kava with him. Kava is not an alochol, and its not a tea. Its something in the middle. Once handed a bowl of Kava, you have to chug it back, while everyone else claps 3 times. We sat around for a few hours drinking Kava and sharing stories from everyone's world travells (a couple people had been travelling for 9 months, so they had many stories). A couple other Fijians joined us, so it was fun to interact with them. They say you haven't really been to Fiji, unless you have drank kava. So now I can say that I've offically been to Fiji. Also, you must be invited by a Fijian to drink Kava.

We learned that the tribe leader had put a ban on the consumption of alcohol and drugs for all tribe members born after 1965 because of the recent excessiveness (this is how things work in a Fiji tribe). Needles to say, the younger ones were not happy about it.
